ECR-WASH Project
Paikgacha municipality is situated at the South-East part of Khulna district. Adequate safe drinking water and safe sanitation is the main problem for different level people, especially for poor and hard-core poor. Mainly project working to addressing safe drinking water through PWSS, RWSS and insure safe sanitation system through install community latrine, School latrine, HHs latrine. To change improve hygiene behaviors project implement different types hygiene session, meeting and training with community people and students. For capacity development of PS project organized planning meeting, workshop and orientation for pourashava council to provide better wash service. Nabolok is implementing Enhancing Climate Resilient WASH in Paikgacha Municipality under Khulna district from September, 2017 through funding and technical support of WaterAid Bangladesh in view to establish WaSH rights of poor & vulnerable people under Paikgacha paurashava. Nabolok is providing safe water coverage for 8500, sanitation coverage for 5500 and hygiene promotion facilities among 11000 beneficiaries.
Goals of this project
The main goal of this project is to contribute to improve human well-being and dignity of the disadvantaged urban poor through wash access.
Project Objectives:
- Improved WASH services in (sub) districts and communities, reaching the hardest to reach and addressing challenges such as climate change, water security and eliminating open defecation
- People understand their WASH rights and responsibilities and communities are able to hold governments and service providers to account
- WASH is prioritized in policies, plans and budgets at national and/or sub-national levels to deliver and sustain WASH services for all
- Improved cross-sector integration increases access to WASH and hygiene promotion in schools and healthcare facilities
